David Van Houten received his BBA in Management from Texas A&M in 1971. Following graduation he spent a 35-year career in the Coca-Cola Bottling business. He retired in 2006 as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Coca-Cola Enterprises, the world’s largest bottler. He is a member of the 12th Man Foundation’s Council of Athletic Ambassadors and Dallas Champions Council, Dean’s Development Council of the Mays Business School and the Texas A&M Lettermen’s Association. He recently served on the Olsen Field Renovation Committee and the Major Gifts Committee of the 12th Man Foundation. David was named Mays Business School Outstanding Alumni in 2003. He enjoys golf, traveling, spending time with family and supporting Texas A&M. David and his wife, Carol, have three children: Tara Tevis '98, married to Ryan, a Baylor graduate; Brant Van Houten '02 married to Ruth '05; Blaine Van Houten, a 2005 graduate of SMU; and two grandchildren.
