Peggy Gorden Hughes of San Antonio earned her bachelors’ degree in Health Science in 1982 from Texas A&M University. She has been a member of the Council of Athletic Ambassadors since 2004 and the San Antonio Champions Council since its inception in 2003. She has been on the board of trustees for four years, has served on subcommittees of the board in 2005-06 and currently is the Chairman of the Annual Programs Committee. Peggy has given generously to Texas A&M Athletics, College of Geosciences and The Association of Former Students. Peggy is an avid sportsman and conservationist that enjoys hunting, fishing, diving and photography. She is a member of the San Antonio Charity Ball Association, San Antonio Symphony, Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, and the Alamo Heights Methodist Church. Peggy is married to Dan Allen Hughes, Jr., Class of ’80, who is president of Dan A. Hughes Company LP, an oil and gas exploration company based in Beeville. Dan Allen is a member of the All-American Wildcatters and a Texas Parks and Wildlife commissioner. Together they have three children: Dan Allen III “D.A.”, a graduate of the University of Arizona; William, a graduate of TCU; and Elizabeth, a sophomore at TCU.
